Padel Bracket is a free, no-account tournament app. We do not collect personal data, sell data, or require registration. Tournament data is stored locally on your device.

1. Who we are

Padel Bracket ("we", "us", "our") is a free web application available at padel-bracket.com. It is an open-source project maintained by Danny de Vis.

2. Data we collect

We collect minimal data to understand how the app is used. Specifically:

Google Analytics 4 — only active if you explicitly accept cookies. Collects anonymised page views, session counts, and device type (no IP address stored). No personal profiles are created.
No account data — we never ask for your name, email, phone number, or any personal identifier.
No tournament data on our servers — tournaments are stored exclusively in your browser's localStorage. We have no access to player names or scores you enter.

3. Live sharing (Supabase)

When you use the "Share" feature to generate a live-view link, the current tournament state is temporarily stored in a Supabase database to allow spectators to follow along. This data:

Contains only the tournament scores and player names you entered
Is identified by a random 6-character code, not by your identity
Is overwritten each time you push an update
Is not linked to any account, device identifier, or IP address on our end

Supabase processes this data as a sub-processor under its own privacy policy.

4. Cookies and localStorage

Padel Bracket uses browser localStorage (not cookies) to save:

Your current tournament state (so you can resume after closing the browser)
Your language preference
Your theme preference (dark/light)
Your saved player groups (if you use that feature)
Your analytics consent choice

Google Analytics is loaded only after you click "Accept" in the cookie banner. If you click "Decline", no analytics cookies are set and no tracking occurs.

5. Third-party services

6. Your rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the EU or EEA, you have the right to:

Access, rectify, or erase any data we hold about you
Withdraw consent for analytics at any time (clear your browser's localStorage key padel-consent to reset)
Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

Since we collect no personal data directly, most GDPR rights can be exercised by simply clearing your browser data.

7. Data retention

Local browser data (localStorage) persists until you clear your browser storage. Supabase live-share data is overwritten on each update and is not permanently retained. Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months (Google's minimum setting).

8. Children

Padel Bracket is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. The "last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
