Frequently asked questions

How does pickleball Mexicano work?

In pickleball Mexicano, partners are reassigned after every round based on the live standings. Rank 1 and rank 2 always play together against rank 3 and rank 4. Points are tracked per individual player. The session becomes more competitive as it progresses.

What is the difference between pickleball Americano and Mexicano?

In Americano, the partner rotation is pre-determined before the session starts. In Mexicano, partners are reassigned after each round based on the current standings. Mexicano gets increasingly competitive because top-ranked players always end up playing together. Americano is more social; Mexicano is better for groups that want a clear competitive winner.

What scoring does pickleball Mexicano use?

PadelBracket defaults to a target score of 11 with win by 2 enabled. You can change the target to 15 or 21 and toggle win by 2 on or off in the setup wizard. Rally scoring is used throughout.

Is pickleball Mexicano good for competitive play?

Yes. Mexicano is designed for groups that want a clear competitive winner. Because pairings are based on standings, the best players are always matched against each other. By the final round, only the strongest players are competing at the top, making every round more intense than the last.
